Please submit your story about a Dog Hero and once every three months I will pick from the entries to recieve a free pet portrait of a Dog Hero.

He's A Hero - Sebastian
Sometimes the rescued rescue the rescuer. Just ask Diana Trigg of Kansas City, Mo. Her miniature Eskimo dog, Sebastian, was snoozing on the couch while Diana and her aunt watched television. She had adopted the two-year-old dog three weeks earlier from Heart Bandits American Eskimo Dog Rescue in Overland, Park, Kansas, after she saw the dog on Petfinder.com.
The group's pet list is at kcheartbandits.petfinder.com.
Suddenly Sebastian jumped up, went over to a storage room door and started barking.
"He kept barking and looking at me," Diana says. The persistent barking roused Diana from her chair to see what he wanted. "When I went to check I could smell a gas leak."
A gas company service person responded quickly and discovered several leaks. Natural gas and carbon monoxide were seeping into her home. Had it not been detected in a day or two, he told Diana, it would have been deadly.
"That's how my rescued dog rescued me," Diana says.
Thanks to Diana for sending the great story about Sebastian,
a true pet hero! A pet portraits is on the way. |
